Concert etiquette

Most know the basics. Here's a reminder for the rest of ya:

Be kind to your neighbors.
total nudity is generally frowned upon.
Don't scream/thrash/whistle continuously,
bump those in front of you with your cellphone camera,
burn your neighbor's hair with your lighter
or
whine that you can't see - even if you're short, brought your children, or feel entitled that folks in front of you should split open like the red sea.

really. It happened. A whiner complained and moaned b/c she couldn't see. She tapped, protested, and finally enlisted the support of an usher, who was kind enough to bump those (me!) "in her way" to the front row. I am 5'2 on my tallest day. Still cant figure out how she couldn't see, nor could i figure out how the hell i ended up getting bumped so close to the stage that i could see beads of sweat forming on Thom's forehead at Fri's Radiohead show in Charlotte. Either way, i was reminded of the most valuable lesson. Be nicest to the ushers.

Just ask Lada who wiggled 4 friends into the front row, with one quick hairtoss, two batted eyes, and a modified bend and snap move (yes, the move from legally blonde - Lada is blonde now, for the record).

Aside from the seating debacle, i learned that Radiohead should no longer be considered mortals. 24 songs seemed like 2, and it earned my current top spot for the show i need to see on repeat, please. Thom was making love to the mike, and busting moves that made James Brown look static.

Went to see Eisley the other night in Chapel Hill. They are a good family band (never thought I would ever say that sentence out loud) from Texas. I really wanted to hear "Marsh King's Daughter" or "Trolly Wood" but it didn't happen. It was at a smaller venue though, so I hung out with the band after the show for a bit and chatted and they seemed like good people.

Opening band was The Myriad. They were decent, but oddly didn't play long enough to really judge. They did mention the movie Labyrinth which earned them big points from me...

Side note: Sufjan Stevens is on repeat on my iPod. Damn I love that boy. If he is gay, I don't want to know...

A Spoonful of Game

Good venue. Good show, although he does turn his back on the audience too often. They played an amazing live "The Ghost of You Lingers" which was impressive since it has never been one of my favorites. "I Summon You" always has been one of my favorites and that was great to hear live as well.

They had a couple opening bands. The first, White Rabbits, I liked quite a bit. The second, The Walkmen, didn't thrill me. Something about the lead singers voice just got old fast.

Also, a very cute boy switched seats with his friend so he could sit next to me and chat between bands. It is good to know that I still got some game. Interesting...

I found out that the lyrics to "Silver Lining" are not "but now I'm gone" like we thought they were. They are "but now I'm gold" - which is still a good line, it just isn't what I have been singing in my head for the past month. They still have some great lyrics for my current mood:
